The Ship

The Avalon is a recently opened casino ship based on of the East district. Daily, it takes regular cruises three miles out into the Atlantic allowing it to avoid the laws prohibiting casinos within city limits. On weekends, it takes a long ten mile cruise out into the Gulf of Mexico. Due to legal restrictions, IDs are checked prior to boarding and anyone under the age of 21 is denied entry. Coloring is mostly in white and blue. The casino’s staff, both men and women, are dressed in tuxedos which are also white and blue.

The Avalon offers the standard fair of gambling found among Miami’s casino ships: blackjack, craps, roulette, slots and video poker. It also offers a few other games such as poker like some other ships offer as well as mahjong. Other amenities include a bar and a cafe.

The Decks

The first floor has a few slot machines, but is mostly devoted to the sea food themed cafe. Additionally, there is a gift shop with a variety of items targeted mostly at tourists. In the back of the deck, there is a section devoted to sports betting. There’s a variety of tvs set to ESPN including one big screen tv showing whatever game happens to be on at the time.

The second deck is primarily devoted to slot machines as well as the high limit slot machines that can be found in the back.

The third deck has tables for other games. Additionally, in the middle there is a raised stage and the tables around it can be moved to provide dance space.

Finally, the fourth deck is devoted to the VIP Player’s Club which has games targeting serious players as well as those with more money then they know what to do with it. There are two ways to get it. Pay a yearly fee or be a professional player. Games here are strictly poker and mahjong. Additionally, this deck also includes a bar open to everyone. It is fully stocked, but is heavily themed towards Prohibition era drinks.

The Secret Deck

There is one final deck other than the sixth, staff only deck. The fifth deck, found under the ship’s waterline, is open only to approved supernatural beings. Unlike the rest of the Avalon, it is primarily a lounge with sofas and chairs tastefully organized around the room. There are a couple of tables set up for card games and mahjong, but neither is staffed by a casino member and all gambling is arranged by the players involved. The front of the room has a bar where members can serve themselves. Access can be gained by presenting oneself to Elizabeth, though she will also allow anyone a member of her Brood approves in.

Rules of Conduct are as follows

This is a safe haven. No fighting will be tolerated.
Bring none who would harm our Family.
If you hunt above, be discrete and do not kill.
Only approved Family are allowed in here.
Hostility to the hostess or her Brood outside the ship can be grounds for refusal of entry.

Should an individual not know what she means by Family, she’ll be glad to explain it means supernatural beings including mortal+ types.

OOC: If your character is a relevant supernatural being that has been supernatural long enough to learn about their relevant society, feel free to already have access to the secret deck or go through a scene as you please.

Supernatural Effect or Merits

Effect: Your character has a crew of workers or assistants at her disposal. They may be housekeepers, designers, research assistants, animators, thugs, or whatever else makes sense. For every dot in this Merit, choose one type of assistant, and one Skill. At any reasonable time, her staff can take action using that Skill. These actions automatically garner a single success. While not useful in contested actions, this guarantees success on minor, mundane activities.
