Hi everyone!
It's me again, your relatively friendly neighborhood demon. So I wanted to talk to you all about some things going on around the chat and try to find a positive way to deal with it.
I'd like to remind everyone that we as ST's voluntarily donate our time here to you all. We're happy to do it otherwise we wouldn't have signed up for the position. I'd like you all to keep this in mind when you deal with us. We are part of the community too as both staff and players: we want to enjoy our time here too.
I'd like to give an example of what things are like for me. I work 8-10 hours a day, five days a week. It's hospital work so it's pretty intense at times. On the 25th of June I came home and worked on requests right after dinner for four hours. I then jumped onto my player skin only to be asked by players to continue doing requests. All of the ST's put in a lot of effort to making this game good. We do wiki work, coding, story stuff, behind the scenes work, NPC design, and then we run scenes.
I'd like to ask for a few things. I'd like courtesy to be the norm. I get that this is the internet but this is a small community and we'd all like to see it thrive. If an ST isn't on their ST skill, it's usually not a situation where they want to be disturbed. Please allow them to enjoy some community time too. We've also had some incidents where players openly badmouth the work of the staff. We're open to criticism but please be nice about it. We don't get paid to do this. You certainly don't pay us. We're being nice.
Basically, just be courteous. If you don't like something, tell us in a calm and polite manner. We'll attempt to do the same.
